Hundred Oaks Civic Association (HOCA) is dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and security of our neighborhood. Through open communication, seasonal gatherings, and a spirit of cooperation, we work to strengthen community connections while preserving and enhancing our property values. Our members' contributions also support the continued presence of off-duty police patrols, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all who call Hundred Oaks home.

In 2017, our marked police patrol was re-instated by residents to combat the serious increase in criminal activity we had experienced up until 2016. The $400 donation from numerous households enabled us to provide random marked police patrols 5 days per week with 4-hour patrols. In late 2020, a spreadsheet was compiled with data from the BRPD website confirming a marked decrease in criminal activity in Hundred Oaks.

95% of all funds collected are paid directly to our patrol officers. The remaining amount funds this website, necessary mailings and neighborhood parties.
WE NEED MORE PARTICIPANTS TO INCREASE OUR PATROLS.

Homeowners and renters/investors are invited and encouraged to participate in the police patrol campaign. We are a thriving community and EVERYONE counts. Your payment enters you into our database, and you will receive a yard sign indicating to your neighbors and our patrol officer that you are a paid member. Our officer is available to keep an eye on your home when out of town. You can even speak directly to him if you have an issue within the neighborhood that he can help resolve or a law that needs enforcing. All of our officers are off-duty Baton Rouge Police officers.

With the participation of Block Captains, civic associations are highly successful. Block Captains represent each street or small area and act as liaison with the Board. They are also responsible for contacting neighbors about the many benefits of participating in the Patrol Fund.
1. Notify the Board of your willingness to be a Block Captain for your street.
2. Contact all neighbors, discuss with them the many benefits of the Police Patrol, and encourage participation.
3. Provide your neighbors with your contact information in case they have a neighborhood issue, question, or concern.
4. Keep a record of your neighbors’ contact information.
5. Forward any pertinent information to the Board.

Because many of you ask about the boundaries of Hundred Oaks, the map shown above from Nextdoor.com outlines our neighborhood. In addition to showing boundaries, you can see members of Nextdoor.com (green homes) and those who have been invited (orange homes). Please note that we have increased participation on Nextdoor.com from just over 100 members to well over 400. This app is a great way to keep up with your neighborhood, and for that reason, all are encouraged to set up an account.
Setting up an account is simple. Click on the link below and the website will confirm you reside at a Hundred Oaks address.
